Adult Instruction

We offer a variety of classes and adult swim lessons. 

Aqua Aerobics     Monday, Wednesday and Friday          9:00 – 10:15 AM       Group Fitness Class open to all members

Aquaholics             Tuesday 12:00 Noon,   Wednesday   5:30 AM,   Saturday  7:00 AM    Stroke development with fellow Master’s swimmers.

Tri-Sport Swim     Saturday  8:30 AM  Join this group and work on the swim portion of  your next triathlon.

All classes listed above are included in your FAC membership and are offered in the Lap Pool.

Just for kids

From toddlers to teenagers, we provide a fun and safe environment for everyone.  We keep the class size small in order to make it easier for your child to learn and retain the concepts of swimming and water safety.   We offer 2 types of swim lessons, Private and Small Group.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Member rate:            $125 includes 5, 30 minute lessons, scheduled at your convenience

Non-Member rate:  $145 includes 5, 30 minute lessons, scheduled at your convenience

SMALL GROUP LESSONS

We offer small group lessons for children ages 2 1/2 – 12 years old. 

Member rate:             $100 per swimmer, includes 5, one hour  group lessons

Non-Member rate:    $120 per swimmer, includes 5, one hour group lessons

 STARFISH – BEGINNER,  AGES 2 1/2 -3 YEARS OLD 

For your little one who has little or no experience and who may be hesitant to put his/her face into the water.  This course is geared to help students gain confidence through activities.  Parents are encouraged to be in the water

CLOWN FISH – INTERMEDIATE, AGES 2 1/2 – 3 YEARS OLD

This class is for young swimmers who are comfortable in the water and will place their face in the water without hesitation.  We will work on learning to swim to a designated area and back safely.   This level will also work on arm strokes, kicking and floating on his/her back.

STINGRAY – BEGINNER, AGES 4- 12 YEARS OLD

In this level, swimmers will be introduced to specific water skills.  We will work on proper entry and exit from the pool, bobbing, breathing and retrieving an object off the bottom of the pool.  We will also introduce front crawl/freestyle and back floating and gliding.

DOLPHIN – INTERMEDIATE, AGES 4-12 YEARS OLD

This intermediate level places emphasis on improving free-style.  We will introduce breast stroke and back stroke.  The class will use flotation devices to become comfortable transitioning in the water between floats.  Additionally, we will work on changing direction while swimming, treading water and holding our breath while bobbing.

Swim Instructors

Madison Strathman

We are very fortunate to have a swimmer of Madison’s quality serving as FAC’s Aquatics Director.    She is an Olympic Trial qualifier and specializes heavily in breaststroke.  She is a 2017 CSCAA Scholar All-American Honorable Mention,  2015 Missouri State Champion, and 2015-present SEC Academic Honor Roll member. Madison specializes in the breaststroke.

She’s a University of Arkansas graduating  senior from Kansas City Missouri.  She is studying pre-dental/Kinesiology and is a member of the Razorback Swim and Dive team. 

Hailey Stonecipher

Haley brings seven years of competitive swimming experience to FAC. She has background in medicine and is studying to become a physical therapist.

Dane Currin

Dane comes from a family of swimming legends; his parents both swam for University of Texas Longhorns and his mother even held a world record in the 200 yard butterfly for a short span of time. Dane has a diverse aquatics background. His water polo team competed at State in high school and he went as far as qualifying for sectionals in swimming. Dane loves working with kids and is excited to use his knowledge to help your swimmers excel in the water!

Audrey McKinnon

Audrey is a rising elite swimmer for Fayetteville High school where she helped her girls team take home gold in the 2018 Arkansas High School State Championship. She is a 2-time zone qualifier, 3-time junior nationals qualifier, US Open qualifier and was on the winning relay at State. Audrey swims for the RAC Aquahawgs club program and specializes in breaststroke.

Jensen Hunt

Jensen is a junior at the University of Arkansas where she studies Child Development and is aiming to become a Child Life Specialist. Jensen has worked with children in virtually every capacity and brings 4 years of swim lesson experience to FAC.

John McGehee

John studied Finance at Henderson State University where he was captain of the men’s swimming and diving program. Finished All-conference and All-state. John is certified in personal training, and hopes to use his rich background in Health and Fitness to excel in the field of Youth Fitness!

Jessie Garrison

Sharks Swim Team Head Coach

Jessie comes to FAC with 11 years of swimming experience.

Jessie just started her Senior season on the Arkansas Razorback Swim and Dive team where she is a member of the travel team 2015, 2016, 2017 and now 2018.

Jessie currently holds the school record in the 200 Butterfly. She competed in the US Olympic Trials in the 200 Butterfly, 200 Individual Medley and 400 Individual Medley. She specializes in stroke development with advanced swimmers. Jessie is currently studying Criminal Justice and Sociology at the University of Arkansas with minors in Legal Studies and Social Work. After graduations, she plans to pursue a career in Law enforcement. Jessie is happy to answer questions that you may have regarding FAC Sharks Swim Team. Alyssa Lemon

Alyssa just finished her freshman year on the Razorback Swim and Dive team. She is an elementary education major from St. Louis, Missouri. She comes from five years of private lesson and coaching experience, ranging in ages 4-18. In Alyssa’s high school career, she was 2017 Missouri State Champion in the 200 Freestyle and 11-time conference champion. With her love for swimming and working with kids, she’s excited to help children exceed their swimming goals this summer!
